In the distant past sand, loam and clay together formed the Kempense Heuvelrug (Kempen ridge).

Hundreds of hectares woodland, heath land and chains of dunes alternating with meadows, pools, marshes and farmed land make this green holiday destination one of the nicest Kempen landscapes.
