The water-mill of Brustele (Houtum)
Already mentioned in the 13th century.
For this special kind of mill the water pushes the wooden paddles around.
The mill is located at the crossroad of two important roads: the one between Turnhout – Diest and the Herentalse Baan. Between the two of them a small trade union is growing where, for instance, you can find the relay 'Kleine Doorenboom', which is, until today, a tavern in front of the mill.

Relay De Valk (Market-place)
On the market-place, next to the church, there is a café called 'De Valk', a relay built around 1700. In 1735 a big fire destroyed the old rectory, the town-hall and the church.
Also the houses around the market-place with their thatched roofs were burning. 'De Valk' remained intact and was serving as town-hall until the 19th century.

St.-Willibrorduskerk (Market-place)
This church, built with a typical local brick, was destroyed in the 16th century during the big fire in 1735, but was rebuilt afterwards in 1849 and renewed in neo-gothic style. In the church there are statues of different saints who lived in the 16th and 17th century.
Not always accessible for public.

Den Bonten Hannen (Mgr. Cardijnstraat)
This ancient relay dates back from 1769 and, among several others, forms the centre of the fervid trade activity.

The Rectory (Pastorijstraat)
In 1735 the big fire also destroyed this rectory. During the same century a new building arose, the present-day rectory. The house was classified as a monument in 1971. During the years 1992/93 the building was completely restored and is serving nowadays as library and meeting-centre.

Beermolen (Retiebaan)
The octagonal wooden Beermolen was used during a long time as corn and rind-mill. In 1875 a stone coat covers the mill, which is used until 1960.  The mill is of the type 'mountain-mill', surrounded by an earthen wall from which the wings of the mill are set to the wind.

Pleintje De Wissel (Geelsebaan)
In 1907 Kasterlee was completely 'unlocked' for tourists from the cities due to the use of a new tram connection between Turnhout and Geel. During several years the tram, with a stop at the 'Pleintje' transports holiday-makers to 'our green lung' to enjoy nature and the different establishments. In 2004 the 'Pleintje' was rebuilt as a gentle reminder.

Keeses Molen (Geelsebaan)
Standard mill from 1650. This mill is turned to the wind, to function, by means of an oak beam. Therefore the entire body has to be moved. The mill was standing along the Retiebaan earlier but was blown down in 1922 and replaced by an identical mill from Heist-op-den-Berg by Cornelius 'Cees' Van Laer. The mill finally moves to the Geelsebaan where it will never function again.

British Military Cemetry
100 officers and soldiers of the British Army have found their tomb here. They fell during
the combats of liberation in Geel – Ten Aard in World-War II, September 1944.

Frans Masereel Centrum (Zaardenstraat)
In 1972 the centre opens its doors as an international workshop for graphic artists. The centre is supported by the Flemish Community and receives every year about 100 young or settled artists. In the modern work- and exhibition space the public can admire the work of the visiting artists. There also is a collection of the work of Frans Masereel with an accent on pacifist society and belief in  human brotherhood.

Heemerf De Waaiberg (Geelsebaan)
With dilapidated buildings, doomed to disappear, the municipality of Kasterlee starts a program, called Heemerf,  in co-operation with the 'Heemkundige Kring', on the nearby
Keeses’Molen. The complex is called Waaiberg according to an old name for this region.
It is meant to be a testimony for the style of building and way of living of the local population during the second half of the 19th and beginning 20th century. You can see  a typical farm with its barn, oven and barrow. Every second sunday of the month (except in the month of July) the 'Heemerf' is accessible during the 'living Heemerf'. There are musical performances and you can watch the baking of bread. More information concerning guided tours and visits are available at the tourist information centre.
